Keeping up with Grant

Life is never dull. This morning at 4am Jim dialed 911 and within 3 minutes we had a firetruck, ambulance and police cars at our house. Thankfully, it was for me and not Grant. It turns out that I am allergic to the pain medication they gave me after the surgery and when I took my 4am dose I had enough built up in my system that I started having horrible chest pain, stomach pain and many other weird symptoms.

They rushed me to the hospital where I had chest x-rays, CT scan, and ultrasound and blood work done. (They thought I might have had a blood clot.) But, thankfully it was nothing serious. As I lay there with an oxygen canula strapped to my nose I thought about how many times Grant has had to go through the same tests. Yuck.

I'm home now and trying to get some rest. Thanks for your prayers for a speedy recovery.

Oh, I am so sorry that you had that happen! I'm glad that you're ok and now you know to steer clear of the medicine they gave you. Take care and know that you're in our prayers.

Hello Shannon & Jim: Did you stop on the way home from the hospital for some home-made frozen custard on Woodward, about 13 mile, it cures all!
Come to you all that are wearry, & I will give you rest!, That's our prayer for used-guys!
Blessings, Rog & Sheila

So glad to hear it was just a drug allergy and nothing more serious though. How scary!!!
Take care! How is your ankle??

Hi Shannon!!
I have been following your blog ever since you started it and I pretty much check it everyday. All I can say is PRAISE GOD!! Grant is healthy, beautiful, and blessed! I'll pray for a quick recovery from your surgery. I have a blog on here too. It is all about our crazy time here in Dominica...long story!
